Our principal mission at Yayasan Tenaga Nasional (YTN) is to develop the nation’s future leaders. We believe that cultivating leaders and nurturing talent starts from the roots. The youth is an incredibly dynamic, responsive and highly impressionable crowd, that’s why a lot of our work revolves around this age group.
One of the initiatives that we have created for youths is the MARA Enriching Young Talents programme (Program Kepimpinan Pelajar Maktab Rendah Sains Mara – MRSM). Developed as a joint effort with the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), this programme exposes students to the field of engineering through a hands-on approach where participants can get a feel for real-world experiences.
Some of the activities from past programmes include field trips to Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), the Putrajaya Electric Station, the TNB Integrated Learning Solution (ILSAS), briefings by YTN and experience sharing session conducted by former YTN scholars.
These activities also give a chance for us to promote our scholarship programme, and entice excellent students with the right leadership qualities to apply for this programme upon completing their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations.
