With a world that’s constantly shrinking thanks to technological advancement and increased connectivity - internationalisation has become more important than ever. Recognising this, YTN launched our Global Outreach Programme (GOP), an initiative that's geared towards producing a new breed of forward-thinking students that are also globally competitive.
Our Global Outreach Programme provides funding for YTN scholars from UNITEN and public universities to broaden their horizons through experiencing the different educational systems and cultures of institutions across the world. To qualify, you simply have to be a YTN scholar at UNITEN or public universities, and have completed Year 2 of your Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (engineering major) or 3.33 (other courses). As a prerequisite, applicants should also have completed the Development Programme (Year 2) and the Corporate Social Responsibilities Programme (for UNITEN students).
Students with excellent co-curricular track record, strong leadership skills, and the support of their academic advisors stand a greater chance at being selected for this incredible opportunity.
For those interested in enrolling in GOP, all you need to do is follow the steps which include – assembling a team that consists of 15 to 20 students, choosing a partner university, getting the necessary approvals from MOU, and then submitting all the application documents.
At the next stage, YTN will review and contact successful teams who will receive funding, as well as provide instructions prior to their trip.
It is the hope of YTN that these study tours will not only allow students the experience of travelling overseas, but also help them to find new approaches to problem solving, undertake new learning techniques and cultivate a global mindset.
